FarmGear Hub ("we", "us", "our") is an agricultural equipment marketplace and services platform operated from Anambra State, Nigeria. We connect farmers, equipment suppliers, hire partners, service providers, and training academies across Nigeria.

2. What Information We Collect

We collect information you provide directly to us, including:

• Account information — name, email address, phone number, password
• Profile details — gender, date of birth, farm name, scale of operation, state, LGA, address
• Business information (for partners) — business name, CAC registration number, business type, certifications
• Transaction data — order history, payment references, escrow transactions
• Communications — messages sent through our platform, support requests, feedback submissions
• Location data — GPS coordinates captured by field agents during farm visits or assessments (with your consent)
• Usage data — pages visited, features used, device and browser information
• Uploaded documents — CAC certificates, identity documents, product photos

3. How We Use Your Information

We use your information to:

• Create and manage your account
• Process equipment purchases, hire bookings, service requests, and training enrollments
• Hold and release payments through our escrow system
• Assign field agents for partner verification visits and farm assessments
• Send order confirmations, status updates, and important notifications via email
• Provide customer support and respond to inquiries
• Process referral commissions and track your referrals
• Improve platform features and user experience
• Comply with legal obligations and prevent fraud
• Send newsletters (only if you have subscribed)

4. How We Share Your Information

We do not sell your personal information. We may share your data with:

• Verified Partners — when you place an order, your name, phone number, and delivery address are shared with the assigned partner to fulfil your request.
• Field Agents — your business address and contact details are shared with the field agent assigned to your partner verification visit.
• Payment Processors — Paystack processes your payment details. We do not store your card information.
• Email Service Providers — we use Brevo (Sendinblue) and Resend to deliver transactional emails.
• Cloud Infrastructure — your data is stored securely on Neon PostgreSQL and hosted via Vercel/Cloudflare.
• Legal authorities — we may disclose information when required by law or to protect the rights and safety of our users.

5. Data Retention

We retain your personal data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide services. Transaction records are retained for a minimum of 5 years for legal and accounting purposes. If you delete your account, we will delete or anonymise your personal data within 90 days, except where retention is required by law.

6. Data Security

We implement industry-standard security measures including encrypted connections (HTTPS/TLS), hashed passwords, and access controls. However, no method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure. Please keep your login credentials confidential.

7. Cookies

We use session cookies to keep you logged in and authentication tokens to manage your session. We do not use advertising or tracking cookies from third parties. You can disable cookies in your browser settings, but this may affect your ability to use the platform.

8. Your Rights

You have the right to:

• Access — request a copy of the personal data we hold about you
• Correction — update inaccurate or incomplete information in your profile settings
• Deletion — request deletion of your account and associated data
• Portability — request your data in a commonly used format
• Opt-out — unsubscribe from marketing emails using the link at the bottom of any newsletter
